Monday: Pickering – 7 miles away
Take a steam train to Whitby or part journey.Visit the castle or leisure center. Flea market open daily and many other exciting shops.
Wednesday : Kirkbymoorside – 2 miles away
Lovely friendly town with shops for all your grocery needs with many locally sourced products. Craft and other interesting shops. Golf course and a super annual show in late July
Friday : Helmsley – 7 miles
For the shopaholic in you visit the range of up market shops including: Browns, clothes boutiques, shooting shops, bookshops and exceptional delicatessens plus many lovely hotels with spas and restaurants. The castle with walled gardens, Duncombe House, Art Centre, Rievaulx Abbey and the outdoor swimming pool are but a few of the things on offer.
Gillamoor less than 1 mile away
Come and see the famous Surprise View and beautiful church. A scenic walk away from Harlandbeck farm and a great stop for lunch or dinner.
Hutton le Hole – less than 2 miles
There are many superb local pubs and restaurants and wide range of activities can be enjoyed at the museum; there local craft shops and tea rooms. The Chapel of Ease originating from 1934 is a must see before lunch in the local pub.
Lastingham – 4 miles
This famous church dates back to1078 and a fantastic pub with an open fire, superb food and a warm welcome awaits you.
Appleton le Moors – 4 miles
This village has a 1840 french gothic church a quaint country pub a small spa, footpaths and bridleways across wooded areas to Sinnington which has a beautiful village green with the River Severn running through along with a delightful restaurant/pub and a lovely church
